A Little More About Us…

"Many of our teens here in Central PA have never even seen a starry moonlit night. "
 - Rob

Our Expeditions are both physically and mentally challenging, but in the end we fully expect the experience to be one of the most rewarding in the lives of the teens who participate.

Rob Golden

Rob established GO WEST!!! USA in 1993 out of his love for adventure travel and his desire to share unique and exciting parts of the world with the young people of our community. His unyielding dedication to providing a quality service and a unique learning environment for teens is the driving force behind GO WEST!!! USA. As a former classroom teacher and US Marine, Rob has seen and done a lot. He has lived in London, Kailua, the Netherlands, Japan and many places in the US.

Rob’s trekking and climbing adventures have led him across the country and around the world. He loves telling personal tales of adventure and exploration to the teens who join him on his expeditions. He loves new adventures and seeing the world through young people’s eyes. Rob views the outdoors as an environment where teens are able to fully explore and express themselves. When leading a GO WEST!!! USA expedition, Rob is sure to mix the outdoors with creative fun. Rob now lives in Harrisburg and enjoys climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking and playing guitar.

Robert “Bob” Dryden

Bob joined GO WEST!!! USA as volunteer in March of 2004. Bob is a Pennsylvania native who grew up as much out of doors, as in. After attending school he spent several years working for non-profit organizations on the West Coast, such as All Nations International Summer Camps for kids with disabilities. He then took his love of the outdoors global as he spent a year and a half backpacking around the world. In 2005, Bob’s role has shifted somewhat to primarily managing our youth group relationships.

Joe “Cotton” Golden

Joe has been a supporter of GO WEST!!! USA for a number of years. We are  glad to have him as one of our youngest volunteers. Joe is currently helping with community expansion. In addition, he leads  our music program. He is extremely excited about his first season as a snowboarding instructor for this coming winter. Joe is also excited for another awesome summer out west.

Linda Bouder

As office manager of a successful natural healthcare clinic, Linda brings 12 years of administrative experience to assist in program promotion and fund raising. Having raised 5 children to adulthood, she fully embraces the GO WEST!!! USA philosophy that the outdoors, and the challenges and opportunities it presents, is the perfect venue to promote change in the lives of teens.

Linda pursues an active lifestyle as she enjoys running, biking, hiking and recently took up skiing. She also enjoys reading and learning to play the guitar however time spent with her children and grandson is most important. She is active in her church, has volunteered in various community events and hopes to participate in a GO WEST!!! USA expedition.
